Thursday is Bunco Night at Ruby's!!
For the uninitiated, it's a dice game. We have a group of 12 women who play. Guys are welcome, but they seem to be happy sitting in the front of the bar watching the Colts and the Patriots play football instead.
Anyway, we need some fun tonight! No more political talk for awhile. Eldon Wilmer was in this afternoon. I'm pretty good about keeping track of who's drinking how many of what, but it seems that Eldon started before he got here. WHEW......he started talking about something political and went off like a cheap bottle rocket. I had to call his wife Phyllis to come calm him down and take him home to sleep it off.
Bunco isn't really gambling, otherwise we'd be getting a visit from the Peace Officer. At the end of the evening the person with the most Bunco's wins the prize chosen by the hostess. This week I serve as the hostess and I've chosen a gift certificate for over at the Cut 'N Curl. They've got a massage therapist!!! Woo hoo......our little town comes into the 21 century. So anyway, the Bunco winner will be treated to a massage.
There's something to be said for a little self indulgence once in awhile. But I see over in Centerville there's a day spa for kids! Wooo...you can guess how Ruby feels about that.
I read online today that there's a blog written by an American soldier that got 10,000 hits in ONE DAY!
Whew...I'm only averaging 75 a day, I've got ALOT of work to do. But not tonight. Tonight is Bunco.
For a treat I'm serving "Twinkies on a Chocolate Pond". Here's picture and the recipe.

Twinkies on a Chocolate Pond
Makes 1 serving
1 Twinkie
Hersheys Chocolate Syrup
1 Kit Kat candy bar
Freeze the twinkie for at least one hour. Cut into 1/2 inch slices.
Drizzle chocolate syrup on serving plate.
Arrange frozen twinkie slices decoratively on top of chocolate syrup.
Garnish with Kit Kat Candy bars.
Enjoy!!!!!
Hi ya Ruby,
As a guy I have to agree that you're right, I might rather watch the ball game than play bunco, although, I am not too sure about that. Being able to chat it up with a dozen beautiful women offers something more than football. At any rate, to be quite honest is the twinkies on the chocolate pond that I wouldn't want to miss out on. What a concoction! I must say, you have outdone yourself with the snacks. Sure beats the pretzles at the bar.
Have fun,
David
